CHIEFLAND WOMAN CLAIMS $9 MILLION FLORIDA LOTTO™ JACKPOT

TALLAHASSEE -- The Florida Lottery today announced that FLORIDA LOTTO™ winner Carolyn DeVore, 65, of Chiefland, claimed the January 16, $9 million jackpot.

DeVore chose the one-time, lump-sum payment for her winnings in the amount of 5,098,458.00. The winning FLORIDA LOTTO ticket was purchased from Winn-Dixie, located at 2200 N. Young Boulevard in Chiefland The retailer received a bonus incentive of $25,000 for selling the jackpot-winning ticket.

The winning FLORIDA LOTTO numbers were 01-04-25-27-48-49 and the XTRA multiplier was 2.

Total ticket sales for this jackpot generated approximately $5.5 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF). Since 1988, the Florida Lottery has contributed more than $20 billion to the EETF, benefiting our students and schools, as well as funding more than one million Bright Futures scholarships. By a two-to-one margin, Florida voters in 1986 approved a constitutional amendment authorizing the state to operate a lottery for the purpose of generating significant additional moneys for education.

DeVore is the 3rd FLORIDA LOTTO jackpot winner from Levy County. To date, there have been more than 940 FLORIDA LOTTO jackpot winners statewide since 1988.

The next FLORIDA LOTTO drawing will be held tonight, January 20, at 11:15 p.m. ET with a $3 million jackpot. Webcasts of Florida Lottery drawings are available on the Lottery's Web site at flalottery.com.
